Lorissa Arndt

Hip Hop Instructor /Choreographer

Lorissa has always loved dance and expressing herself through music. It was during her early twenties that Lorissa decided to first try an actual “dance class”. Love and passion for dance exploded in Lorissa’s life. This quickly advanced to Lorissa training all over the place, including Vancouver, LA and New York. Lorissa is genuine danspiration!

Lorissa is a strong dance teacher, natural performer, and choreographer for beginners all the way to professionals. She specializes in teaching hip hop, free style, high heels performance and creating a space for students to discover their own natural groove.

Lorissa has over ten years of experience teaching street dance in all levels and to all ages. She currently teaches regular classes at Dynamic Dance and is an Army of Sass (AOS) certified instructor at The Goddess Movement. Lorissa also contracts with local School Districts to teach hip hop as part of the PE or school dance programs, Abbotsford Children’s Theatre, Reach Art Gallery, etc.

Lorissa has also dedicated herself in maintaining a focus on community by performing at local venues and participating in public events. These events have included but are not limited to BC Lions training camp, 1 Billion Rising, International Women’s Day, the Vagina Monologues, and Agri Fair.

Some of Lorissa’s credits include 2010 Winter Olympics, 2013/2014 The Abbotsford Heat Hockey Team- Co-Captain of the ‘Fever’ Performance Team, 2014 Grey Cup Parade, 2014 Business Excellence Awards, 2014/2015/2017 Vertical Theatre presented by the Goddess Movement, Entertainment Chair for the 2016 BC Summer Games, Choreographer and performer in the 2017 production “Find My Way”, and dancer in HUMANS music video.

Lorissa is a registered member of the British Columbia Dance Educators’ Association and International Dance Teaching Standards.
Lorissa was nominated for and won the Arty Award for Outstanding Dancer in 2014. Lorissa was nominated for the 2016 Promotion Plus Leadership Award (girls and women in sport and physical activity) in partnership with the BC Games Society.

Lorissa believes the best teachers are the ones who remain students. Lorissa personally strives to constantly learn, grow and develop her craft. Lorissa also believes that there are many transferable skills between learning to dance and successful living, which she models for her students in and out of dance class.
Kim Durham

Acro Instructor/Choreographer
Kim started her gymnastic career at the age of four. When she turned nine years old, Kim won the Western Canadian Gymnastics Championships and was subsequently asked to train with the U.S. Olympic Coach. As Kim continued her gymnastic career, she was also training full time in dance (Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Musical Theatre, Song and Dance , and Acrobatics) at the Vi Cameron School of Dance. Kim was a Cast Member of the Surrey Arts Theatre which produced plays such as Finian’s Rainbow and Fiddler on the Roof.

Kim has maintained a high level of fitness and a desire for learning to this day. Kim is very passionate about teaching and loves working with every level of dancer who expresses interest in Acrobatics. For the past seventeen years, she has been an Acrobatic Dance Teacher and Choreographer for competitive and recreational levels at both the National and International Levels for Acrobatics.

Kim is a very talented coach and choreographer who has led her students towards a successful path and future. Many of her performing groups have won top honours at Local and International Competitions including taking the top spot at the Tacoma Regionals and Hawaii Dance Experience in Waikiki Hawaii. During the 2016 Dance Competition season, Kim led an undefeated Competitive Acrobatics Team to become Provincial Acro Champions.

Kim has achieved high honours as a Trainer and Choreographer over the years and continues to do so each year. This includes Choreographer of the Year, Diamond Choreographer, Adjudicator’s Choice and Teacher’s Choice at numerous competitions across the Lower Mainland. Additionally Kim has been recognised and was selected to receive the Arty Award in 2005 for all her contributions to the community of Abbotsford.

Some of Kim’s credit in the community of Abbotsford includes choreographing for the B.C. Summer Games in 2004 and 2016 and collaborative credit for the opening ceremonies for the Senior Summer Games. She has also had the opportunity to work with the community of Vancouver with the fortheloveofityouth on Granville Island.

Kim continues to share her love of dance and acrobatics with her students of all ages.

Drew Rintjema

Theatre Instructor/Choreographer

Drew is a young dance teacher emerging in the dance choreography world. Drew, born in Abbotsford British Columbia, took her first dance classes at Dance in Motion starting when she was three. She practices many genres of dance with her most recent training in ballet, modern, contemporary, hip hop, and Musical Theatre. !
Rachel Weber

Ballet and Primary Jazz Instructor/Choreographer

Rachel has been dancing since the age of 2. She has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Musical Theatre, Acro, and Hip Hop.

Rachel's extended ballet training has included summer programs with the Goh Ballet, the Alberta Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. She has also taken part in the Goh Ballet's Nutcracker for 3 seasons and will again this year.

Rachel enjoys teaching the primary classes the foundations of dance.
Brittney Durham


Brittney started her dance training at the age of 2. She has been trained in ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, contemporary, hip-hop and acro, and undertaken Acrobatics Examinations as well as RAD Ballet exams. Brittney has been teaching since the age of 14 and she continues to learn and share her love for dance.

Nicole Provost
Tap Instructor / Choreographer

Nicole Provost has been tapping competitively since she was 11 years old. In 2009, she travelled to Reisa, Germany as a member of the Canadian National Tap Team, and went on to win two world titles, in the Junior Formations category, and in the Junior Trios category. Nicole loves teaching – aside from tap, she conducts a competitive children’s choir, tutors students in calculus and pre-calculus, and teaches in an alternative school for gifted youth with behavioural and mental health challenges. Nicole loves watching her students succeed, and loves getting to see all her students each week – her favorite people in the world!!
